ISBA is a turn-key operational gondola, developped in partnership with CNES, specially designed and optimized for short or long duration flights. A dedicated PLC module enables :

• Communication with an Iridium mobile phone or any public switch telecom network dial-up line at 2400 bauds full duplex,
• Air temperature measurement,
•  Air pressure measurement,
• Balloon gas pressure measurement,
• Balloon gas temperature measurement, 
• Battery voltage measurement, 
• 3 x equipment temperature measurements, 
• 1 scientist serial link, 
• End of flight timer, 
• 16 I/O for gas valve, ballast,… 
• Real time and recorded  telemetry modes.

The gondola integrates an ARGOS beacon  for redundancy and recovery of the gondola when separation is completed.

TT&C operations are possible all over the world thanks to the Iridium constallation which give 100% coverage of the Earth.

ELTA’s communications software running on Windows NT/XP/2000 is used for communications with the gondola, for display and for storage of various parameters.
